AFTERCARE

Great results don't end when your appointment does.

Proper aftercare is an essential part of the OFFSCRIPT experience. Follow the instructions provided by your artist or technician and use this guide as a reference throughout your healing process.

TATTOO AFTERCARE

Your tattoo is a fresh wound. Proper aftercare is essential for healthy healing, reducing the risk of infection, and preserving the quality of your tattoo.

01 / THE FIRST HOURS

Follow your artist's instructions on when to remove your bandage. The timing depends on the type of dressing used. Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.

02 / CLEANING

Gently wash your tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Avoid scrubbing. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a clean disposable paper towel. Do not rub.

03 / MOISTURISING

Apply a very thin layer of the aftercare product recommended by your artist. Avoid excessive amounts of cream, as the skin should not remain overly moist.

04 / DURING HEALING

Keep the area clean, wear loose clothing, and avoid unnecessary friction. Mild peeling and itching can be normal. Never scratch, pick, or remove scabs.

05 / WHAT TO AVOID

Avoid swimming pools, the sea, hot tubs, saunas, and soaking the tattoo until the skin has fully healed. Keep the tattoo away from direct sunlight and avoid intense activities that cause excessive friction or sweating during the early healing period.

06 / LONG-TERM CARE

Once fully healed, moisturise your skin regularly and protect your tattoo from sunlight with a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

PIERCING AFTERCARE

A new piercing requires patience, consistency, and gentle care. Healing times vary depending on the placement, jewellery, and individual healing process.

01 / CLEANING

Clean your piercing with sterile 0.9% sodium chloride saline wound wash, following your piercer's instructions. Allow the area to dry gently using clean disposable gauze or a paper product.

02 / HAND HYGIENE

Always wash your hands before any necessary contact with your piercing. Avoid touching, twisting, rotating, or playing with the jewellery.

03 / PRODUCTS TO AVOID

Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, harsh antiseptics, ointments, or homemade salt solutions unless specifically directed by a qualified healthcare professional.

04 / DAILY ACTIVITIES

Avoid unnecessary pressure, friction, and trauma. Keep phones, headphones, bedding, and other objects that come into contact with the area clean. Avoid swimming and submerging the piercing while healing.

05 / JEWELLERY

Do not remove or change the initial jewellery yourself during healing. If resizing is needed, consult your professional piercer.

06 / HEALING

Some initial tenderness, mild swelling, and light crusting can be normal. Healing times vary considerably, and a piercing may appear healed externally before the internal tissue has recovered.

TOOTH GEMS AFTERCARE

Tooth gems are a cosmetic application. Following a few simple care instructions helps protect the bond and maintain your normal oral hygiene.

01 / IMMEDIATELY AFTER APPLICATION

Follow the specific setting and eating instructions given by your technician, as these depend on the bonding materials used.

02 / EATING & DRINKING

Avoid biting hard or sticky foods directly against the gem, especially during the initial period after application.

03 / ORAL HYGIENE

Continue brushing your teeth twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between your teeth. Brush gently around the gem without neglecting the surrounding tooth surface.

04 / DAILY HABITS

Avoid picking at the gem with your fingers, nails, or other objects. Do not attempt to move or adjust it yourself.

05 / IF A GEM COMES LOOSE

Do not attempt to reattach it using household glue or other products. If the gem becomes loose, causes discomfort, or leaves rough bonding material behind, seek professional dental advice.

06 / REMOVAL

Tooth gems and any remaining bonding material should be removed professionally by a dental professional to help protect the tooth surface.

These guidelines provide general aftercare information and do not replace individual instructions or medical advice. If you experience worsening redness, swelling, severe pain, fever, pus, or other signs of infection, seek medical attention promptly. If a piercing may be infected, do not remove the jewellery unless instructed by a healthcare professional. For tooth pain, gum irritation, or damage to a tooth, consult a dentist.
